No Other Medicine Feels This Good!
Frequently Asked Questions
1. As far as pressure is concerned, is deeper better? Deeper pressure is not always better. The "No pain, no gain" mentality does not apply in massage therapy. A massage treatment is too deep when it creates bruises and soreness that lasts beyond two days.
2. Can I talk during my massage therapy treatment? It is important for the patient to feel comfortable and relaxed during the massage treatment. If the patient feels the need to talk during the massage treatment, he/she will be happy to know that the massage therapist is a good listener. Generally, at The Studio, the massage therapist will not initiate lengthy conversation beyond what is necessary to gather the patient's health history; however, he is happy to listen.
3. Is it necessary to remove my clothes? The patient disrobes only to the level with which he/she feels comfortable, after which the patient will lay on the massage table under sheets and covers. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with the massage therapist before your treatment begins.
4. I get cold easily. What should I do? We aim to make the patient as comfortable as possible. To combat the cold, we may heat the massage table, place a heat lamp over the feet, or provide an extra blanket. There are some patients who want all three, which is fine! It is our job to keep you toasty!
5. Do I have to have a medical condition to receive a massage therapy treatment? No. Everyone is welcome and can make an appointment to receive any of our Massage & Bodywork services. In fact, we encourage regular massage therapy for stress reduction.
6. Is there a cancellation policy? If you are not able to make an appointment, we kindly request a 24-hour notice so that another patient can book the appointment time. You will find the Cancellation Policy under the Forms tab.
7. What if the massage pressure is too deep or too gentle...Should I say something? Please do! We encourage the patient to communicate openly with the massage therapist. We want your experience to have maximum therapeutic value.
8. I have sensitive skin. What kind of lubricant is used? The massage lotions and creams we use are certified hypoallergenic. We do not use any massage body oils.
